Andrzej Piotrowicz is a metallurgist expert specializing in recycling technologies and recovery of metals from primary and secondary resources. He is Head of the Hydrometallurgy Department at Eco Harpoon (Poland), where he leads research on battery recycling, electronic waste processing, and circular economy solutions.
He was educated at AGH University of Kraków, where he completed studies in metallurgy and chemical technology; he pursued doctoral research in non-ferrous metals and recycling processes at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw. His work focuses on bridging laboratory-scale research with pilot and industrial implementation, particularly in hydrometallurgical process development.
Dr. Piotrowicz has contributed to projects on battery waste recycling and recovery of critical raw materials and is the author/co-author of scientific publications and patents in the field.
As Conference Chair, he promotes collaboration between academia and industry to advance sustainable materials and resource recovery technologies.
