Professor Ion P. Paraschivoiu is a Full Professor of Aeronautics at Polytechnique Montréal, Canada, and the Founder and President of IOPARA Inc., an international consulting and research company. He holds a B.Sc., M.Eng., and Ph.D. in Aeronautics from Bucharest. Recognized among the world’s top 2% scientists by Stanford University (2020), Professor Paraschivoiu has made outstanding contributions to aerospace engineering, wind energy, and rotating machinery.
He held the prestigious Bombardier Aeronautical Chair from 1990 to 2005 and served as Chairman of the first Bombardier International Workshop in 1993. He is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and an Honorific Member of the Academy of Scientists of Romania. He also served as President of the American Romanian Academy of Arts and Sciences (ARA) from 1998 to 2013 and is now its Emeritus President.
Professor Paraschivoiu has supervised 11 Ph.D. and 18 Master’s theses and has led over 35 research and consulting projects across 20 countries. He is an Academic Editor for the International Journal for Rotating Machinery and has received several prestigious awards, including the Bombardier University–Industry Collaboration Award.
