Dr. Sandeep Kumar is a faculty in Dept. of Energy Science & Engineering, IIT Bombay. He did his B.Tech from NIT Silchar (Assam) in Mechanical Engineering in 2003. He joined Infosys Pvt. Ltd. after his B.Tech and worked as a Software Engineer and Analyst. He left Infosys in 2007 to pursue his dream career in research and joined IISc Bangalore for Master's program in Center for Sustainable Technology. He later continued with his PhD in IISc Bangalore. After finishing his PhD work, he joined IIT Bombay as a Faculty in 2017. He has his expertise in thermo-chemical conversion of biomass and use of alternate fuel in IC engine. His works involves both experimental work as well as CFD based models. His research areas are Biomass Gasification, Hydrogen production from biomass, Use of alternate fuels in IC Engines, Waste to Energy Technologies, Waste Valorisation, Circular Eceonomy and High value Carbon Products from waste biomass and plastics.
